To be considered for protection, food or drink must be produced using local or traditional methods. They must also have features that are different from those from similar products because of the geographical area where they are produced. To register and obtain legal protection, the product must prove competence through the application process. A Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef PGI status, with HCC acts as the body that maintains the integrity del monte international of the labels, as well as promoting the designation.
