The Lemon Tree tells the true stories of two families. A Palestinian family that lived in the village of al-Ramla, built a house and grew a lemon tree in their courtyard. The family was driven out of their home during the 1948 war that established Israel’s independence. texas home health of america A family of Bulgarian Jews fleeing Hitler’s Europe took over the property, which they were told had been “abandoned” by its previous owners.
With this program, the Richmond Peace Education texas home health of america Center seeks to develop a perspective of both peoples’ histories in a way that lays the foundation for a deeper understanding of the current conflict.
