ALGIERS operators who purchase their raw materials and special packaging for the production and packaging of products exempt from tax (VAT) will pay this tax from the first July, said Sunday in a communicated the Directorate General international agro oil industries limited of Taxes (DGI).
These provisions under section 19 of the Finance Act 2014 which repealed paragraph 3 of Article 42 of the Code of taxes on sales and takes effect from July 1, 2014.

The tax authorities said that these new measures will put an end to tax situations faced by producers and suppliers that require international agro oil industries limited the use of the procedure for refund of tax.
The Finance Act has also delayed the entry into force of this provision to July 1, 2014 to avoid any disruption in the activities of producers of milk, flour mills and pharmaceutical manufacturers concerned by this measure and also to prepare the best conditions for its application.
All sectors will be invited as soon as possible to participate in consultation meetings with the tax authorities to identify possible constraints and enable the management of the measures necessary for repayment of withholding taxes generated in time reasonable.
